和庫布裏克的《亂世兒女》類似，雖然由於導演很少拍這樣的類型而顯得不夠靈活，但也算得上是很穩定的發揮，而且都製作精良（特別是攝影和音樂有很強烈的古典氣息），布景、服飾等細節也很用心。那個時候的薇諾娜.瑞德真是美人如玉，就是笑起來老是讓我想到凱拉.奈特莉。就是不懂紐倫是怎麽愛上艾倫的。
